If you are having any trouble at all with your computer, the first suggestion is to SHUT DOWN (not just log off) completely, and restart. If that doesn't solve the problem, read through the list below.

2.Then go to the Standard Interface (far right).

3. Click on USER then, EDIT USER, then TAKE OFFLINE.

5. Click on the child's name that is online and click OK.

UNUSABLE MONITOR SIGNAL

If all cables are properly plugged in and your monitor still gives a message of “Unusable Signal”, do the following:

a. RIGHT click on any blank space on the desktop.

b. Click on Properties and then click on the Settings tab.

c. On the right, where it says Screen Area, move the little tab way to the left so the numbers read 640 X 480.

d. Click Apply.

e. Then a message window will pop up. Click OK.

f. Then Click OK again on the Screen Properties window.

g. Turn off your TV and then turn it back on. That should work.

GENERAL TROUBLESHOOTING

1.    If your computer does not turn on:
  • Check the outlet; is it plugged in?
  • Is the powerstrip plugged in?
  • Is the powerstrip on? Click the button on the powerstrip back and forth several times.
2.    If you cannot connect to the Internet:
  • Make sure your proxy settings are set (especially if you have a black Dell with a tower).
  • Check the network connections box. It's a little black or white box most often found on a wall or on the floor by the student computers. The little red lights (5 or 6 of them) should all be on. If they are not, push in the largest button to the left. That will turn them on.
3.     If you seem to have lost your icons on your desktop, including the Grade Quick icon:
  • Shut down completely and restart. Your machine is automatically set to restart with all the 'teacher icons'; that should work.
4.   If your keyboard appears not to be working:
  • Most probably the keyboard came lose from the back of the CPU; follow the cable. It will have a light purple end to it. Make sure that it is plugged into the back of the computer.
